James R. Martindale, Ph.D., M.Ed. is an Associate Professor of Medical Education and Director of Assessment at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. in educational research from the University of Virginia with concentrations in statistics and psychometrics. Dr. Martindale has been involved in medical education for the past 30 years, primarily focusing on assessment in undergraduate medical education. His primary research interests include the psychometrics of knowledge assessment, multivariate statistics, combinatorial statistical models, and predictive modeling.
